The authentic Colombian and Latin cuisine served at Pollos Mario Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant in Hempstead Village has been drawing in patrons who flock here for breakfast, lunch and dinner meals that they say are distinctly flavorful.
As a steak house, Pollo Mario prides itself on its steak dishes, such as the Entrana Picosita, a hot, grilled skirt steak prepared Colombian-style; and Bistec Encebollado with sautéed onions on top of steak with rice, beans, sweet plantain and salad. Beef and chicken dishes are equally tasteful and include the Milanesa de Res, breaded beef with rice, salad, sweet plantain and beans; and Bandeja con Pollo al Carbon, which is a rotisserie chicken platter that includes a ¼-chicken and consommé.
Pollos Mario is also a seafood restaurant and is positioned to provide seafood lovers with dishes that they will return for again and again, including the Mojarra Frita with fried tilapia as the highlight of a dish served with rice, fried cassava, green plantain and salad. Another popular dish is the Asopado, seafood chowder including shrimp, lobster, fish, crab, mussels and oysters served with rice, French fries and salad.
To the delight of its customers, Pollos Mario also serves breakfast and lunch too. For breakfast, the Desayuno Mario, a combination of grilled beef, scrambled eggs, mixed rice and beans, and corn cake, is often requested; as is the Avocado Salad – Ensalada de Aguacate – which is offered at lunch. Additionally, dessert is on the menu and you may want to check out the flan — it’s so tasty.
With the flavorful fare that Pollos Mario offers its patrons throughout the day, you really do want to stop by and find out for yourself what everyone is raving about!
